Collonges-la-Rouge and the most beautiful villages
The association of the Most Beautiful Villages of France was born in Collonges-la-Rouge, and you can see why: its red sandstone houses and manors, nicknamed the town of twenty-five towers, glow in the setting sun. Nearby, Turenne and its castle overlook the countryside, while Curemonte watches over its hill. A day hopping from village to village makes a charming first date.
The Gimel waterfalls and the Dordogne
Near Tulle, the Gimel waterfalls park reveals three spectacular falls in the Montane gorges: a refreshing walk, perfect for getting to know each other on foot. To the south, Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne invites you on a gabare boat trip along the river, and Uzerche, nicknamed the pearl of Limousin, sits prettily above the Vézère on its promontory.
Accordions, markets and good food
Tulle, the accordion capital, hosts a festival every September where people dance in the streets; ideal for a festive outing together. In Brive-la-Gaillarde, the market is one of the best known in the region, with its walnuts, foie gras and cheeses. On Lyad, members from Corrèze share their favourite places; it is up to you to find someone to discover them with.
